Mathias Behn Bjørnhof is a futurist, facilitator, and founder of ANTICIPATE, a strategic foresight consultancy based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He helps cities and public–private coalitions make sense of long-term change and turn it into near-term decisions.
A former Head of Partnership and teacher of the world-leading Applied Strategic Foresight course at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies (CIFS), he has led 50+ projects across 25+ countries across energy, mobility, governance, urban futures, and more. His practice blends design thinking with futures methods to challenge assumptions, expand options, and build shared commitment to action.
Mathias works with planners, utilities, developers, and civic groups on regenerative and circular cities, urban resilience, AI-enabled services, and democratic participation. He has advised organizations like COWI, American Planning Association, and SAP on future of cities and speaks widely on futures-ready organizations and urban transformation. His goal is simple: make the future of cities usable today, so wellbeing, inclusion, and climate ambition reinforce each other in daily life.
