Mr. Aleš Kuhar is Associate Professor and Vice-Dean at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, where he leads the research group in agri-food economics, consumer behaviour and food systems. His work focuses on competitiveness of sustainable food systems, consumer behaviour, new product development and innovation and insect bioconversion, with focus on policy design and analysis. He has advised Slovenian and foreign ministries, agrifood companies, retailers and international bodies including the WHO, OECD, EU and EBRD. He also mentors agri-food startups and facilitates technology transfer between academia and industry. He previously led Slovenia's national hub for EIT Food and currently coordinates projects on insect-based bioconversion and circular food systems for cities.
