Dr Miro Cerar is a full professor and Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana, as well as a former Slovenian Prime Minister (2014–2018) and former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2018–2020). From 1991 to 1992, he was secretary of the Constitutional Commission, which drafted the constitutional acts on independence, the new Slovenian Constitution, and electoral legislation. Subsequently, alongside his work at the Faculty of Law, he served as an external adviser to the National Assembly on constitutional and other legal matters (1992–2014). He served as Vice-President (2009–2010) and President (2010–2012) of the Slovenian Judicial Council. He has participated in numerous domestic and international professional and academic meetings and conferences. He is the author and co-author of several books and numerous articles in domestic and foreign academic and professional journals.
